
Magnetic Particle Testing is a highly reliable method for detecting surface and near-surface discontinuities in ferromagnetic materials. By establishing a magnetic field within the part, any crack or flaw creates a “leakage field” that attracts fine iron particles, making invisible defects immediately visible under proper lighting.

Testing Methodologies: Wet Fluorescent Magnetic Particle (blacklight inspection) vs. Dry Visible Particle methods.

Indication Evaluation: Distinguishing between relevant flaws (fatigue cracks, seams, laps) and non-relevant indications.
